Privacy policy

Last updated 19 September 2026 · bhesh.in

This describes what Bhesh actually does with your data. It is written from the code, not from a template.

What we collect, and why

Your mobile number
It is your account. It is also the name of the folder your data sits in on our server.
Your email address (optional)
Only if you add one, so we can send receipts and subscription notices. Never marketing.
The photographs you upload
To identify the garments you own. They are stored on our server.
Your wardrobe
The list of garments read out of those photographs — type, colour, pattern, and what the photo did not show.
What you wore
Only when you tap "I wore this today", so the daily suggestion can avoid repeating itself.
Which shop links you opened
A count, so we can tell whether the buying suggestions are any use. Not what you bought.
Your questions
The occasion you picked and the answer given, so you can see it again without spending another question.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your other apps, or anything from your camera roll beyond the photographs you choose.

Who else sees it

Anthropic
Reads your photographs to identify the garments in them, and answers your Ask questions from your wardrobe list. Photographs and garment lists are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
Cashfree Payments
Takes the payment if you subscribe. Card and UPI details are entered on Cashfree's own page and never reach us — we store only the subscription id and its status.
An SMS provider
Delivers the one-time code to your phone when you sign in.
Resend
Sends payment and subscription notices to the email address you choose to give us. It is optional, and used for nothing else.

Nobody else. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. When you open a shop link, the retailer sees an ordinary visit — we do not pass your number, your photographs or your wardrobe to them.

Cookies

Two, both strictly necessary and neither used for advertising: one keeps you signed in, and one recognises a browser that has opened a shared card so the same person opening it twice is not counted twice.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your photographs, your wardrobe and your history from our servers. One thing stays: a one-way scrambled fingerprint of your number and how many free photos and questions it used, so a free allowance cannot be claimed again and again. It cannot be turned back into your number.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, or withdraw your consent. Write to hellobhesh@gmail.com and we will act within 30 days. Complaints go to Atishay Jain at the same address, and you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

Bhesh is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly keep their data.

Security

Access needs a one-time code sent to your number. We hold no card details at any time.

Changes

If this changes materially we will tell you in the app before it applies.
